One continuous membrane, sprayed in place
Spray polyurethane foam is applied as a liquid that expands into a continuous, closed-cell membrane bonded directly to the roof deck. Because it is sprayed rather than laid in sheets, it conforms to every curb, drain, and parapet, so there are no laps or fasteners to fail. A silicone topcoat protects the foam and keeps the system renewable.
Closed-cell foam is more than 90% closed cells, which makes it hydrophobic and gives it the density to shed water and add structural rigidity. At roughly R-6.5 per inch, it insulates while it waterproofs, so a single layer does the work that membrane systems split across insulation board, a deck, and a separate cover.
Because the foam is sprayed, it rises around every drain, curb, and pipe and cures into the flashing itself. There are no laps, no seams, and no fasteners penetrating the assembly. A silicone topcoat protects the foam from UV and keeps the system renewable for decades.

How long does an SPF roof last?
A spray foam roof renews indefinitely with periodic silicone recoats. A-1 offers warranted systems at 10, 15, and 20 years on compliant roofs.
Do you tear off the old roof?
Usually no. When the substrate is sound, SPF is sprayed directly over the existing deck (a recover), which avoids the cost, debris, and disruption of a tear-off.
How much insulation does SPF add?
Closed-cell roofing foam delivers about R-6.5 per inch of continuous, seamless insulation, with no thermal bridging at seams or fasteners.
Does spray foam hold up to freeze-thaw and snow?
Yes. Closed-cell foam is hydrophobic and seamless, so there are no laps for water to enter and freeze. Properly installed and coated, it performs through Upper Midwest winters.
How is the roof renewed over time?
A silicone recoat every 10 to 20 years restores the surface and can extend the warranty, so the roof is renewed rather than replaced.
What standards and approvals apply?
Roofing SPF complies with ASTM C1029 (Type III or IV). FM Global testing has measured SPF adhesion above 900 psf of uplift pressure.
Is spray foam roofing safe for occupied buildings? Does it off-gas?
Cured SPF is chemically inert and does not off-gas. Off-gassing is a curing-phase consideration during and shortly after spraying, which is why ventilation and re-occupancy timing are managed as part of the install, not an ongoing concern.
