What it is

Insulate and air-seal in one pass

Spray foam insulates and air-seals in one step, which makes it the right fit for the buildings that need to hold a temperature and stop drafts: shops, outbuildings, agricultural buildings, and commercial interiors. Closed-cell foam delivers high R-value and doubles as an air and vapor barrier; open-cell is lighter and good for sound control. Code requires the foam be protected by a thermal or ignition barrier, which we detail as part of the work.

Agricultural buildings, shops, pole barns, and metal buildings live and die by their envelope. Wind moves through every gap, condensation forms on cold metal, and batt insulation sags and traps moisture. Spray foam adheres directly to the structure and seals it as one continuous layer.

Fire and code

Foam plastic is not a finished interior surface. Code requires it to be separated from the building interior by a thermal barrier, typically half-inch gypsum board (IBC 2603.4). Some unoccupied spaces entered only to service utilities allow an ignition barrier instead (IBC 2603.4.1.6; IRC R316.5 is the residential equivalent).

We detail the required barrier as part of the work, so the assembly is code-compliant when we leave.
