Fluid-applied protective coatings for tanks, vessels, and commercial walls: chemical, abrasion, and weather resistance in one continuous membrane.

Industrial surfaces fail where an assembled coating meets itself: at a seam, a lap, or a joint. A fluid-applied protective coating skips that weak point entirely. Sprayed or rolled on as a liquid, it cures into a single continuous membrane bonded to the tank, vessel, or wall beneath it, protecting against the specific things that surface faces, whether that's chemical exposure, abrasion from material handling, or years of weather.

One continuous membrane, no seam to fail

An assembled coating system has joints; a fluid-applied one doesn't. The whole surface, including corners and penetrations, cures as a single protective layer.

Systems are matched to the specific chemical, acid, or product a tank or wall is exposed to.

Abrasion & wear

High-traffic and material-handling surfaces get a coating built for repeated mechanical wear, not just weather.

Weatherproofing

Exterior tanks and walls are sealed against UV, moisture, and temperature cycling.

Steel surfaces are cleaned, primed, and encapsulated to arrest existing corrosion and prevent new rust.

Protective coating questions

What can a protective coating be applied to?

Storage tanks, process vessels, and commercial or industrial walls: any surface where a continuous, seamless protective membrane is the right answer.

How do you choose the right coating system?

The system is matched to what the surface is exposed to: the specific chemical, the level of abrasion, or the weather conditions. We confirm the requirement before recommending a system.

Can this go over existing rust or corrosion?

Rusting steel is cleaned and primed first. Once prepared, the coating encapsulates the surface and arrests further corrosion.

Is this different from a roof coating?

It's the same fluid-applied approach, a continuous membrane with no seams, adapted to a different substrate and exposure. The chemistry and application method are what A-1 already uses on roofs.

Do you handle this in-house?

Yes, protective coatings are self-performed by A-1's crews.

Is this an established service or a new one?

It's part of A-1's growing specialty coatings line. We self-perform roof coatings and SPF every day; this applies the same chemistry to a new surface, and we're upfront that it's a building capability rather than a long project history.
