Specialty fluid-applied coatings

The same chemistry, beyond the roof

Fluid-applied protective coatings beyond the roof, a growing capability line. This page is framed by capability, what these systems do, rather than by a catalog of past projects. It is an honest read on a line we are building.

The foundation

This is not a cold start

A-1 self-performs roof coatings and spray foam every day. The specialty coatings line applies that same fluid-applied chemistry and field discipline to new surfaces. We are honest that the project history here is shorter than on the roof, and we scope each one accordingly.

Specialty coatings questions

What's the difference between the four specialty coating services?

Containment liners hold spills in secondary containment areas. Protective coatings guard tanks, vessels, and walls against chemical and abrasion damage. Pedestrian coatings are trafficable waterproofing for garages and walkways. Air and vapor barriers control moisture and air movement through the building envelope. Each uses the same fluid-applied, seamless chemistry, applied to a different surface.

Is this an established service or a new one?

It's a growth line. A-1 self-performs roof coatings and SPF every day; specialty coatings applies that same chemistry to new surfaces. We're honest that this is a building capability rather than a long catalog of past projects.

Can you handle these in-house?

Containment liners and protective coatings are self-performed. Pedestrian coatings and air and vapor barriers are delivered in-house or with a specialty partner depending on the project.

Have a surface that needs a coating system?

Containment, tanks, walls, pedestrian decks, or the building envelope. Tell us about the project and we will tell you honestly how we would approach it.
